Business of Growing Money
Growing money is not about being materialistic, it is about having the means to become financially independent and not a burden to family and society. A lot of people take the chance of beating the odds in lottery and hope to make a huge fortune one day. Many of us may have heard news about these big time winners from reports all over the television and the Internet. Perhaps we have heard, as well, about the demise of many lottery winners who returned to being poor after failing to grow their instant wealth.
Owning and operating a business is one of the basic ways to grow financially. It can be a risky, yet rewarding pursuit. Whether you are a jackpot winner or not, you should take the chance to become an entrepreneur, especially if you find that your monthly salary will never be enough for you and your family. When you have a business, you multiply your time, skills, and money because you hire people to work for you.
In order for a business to be successful, it must be managed well. Management means the art of accomplishing things through others. It consists of five functions:
1. Planning –- identify your business goals and the strategies to reach them. Estimate the costs you will incur and assess the time needed to attain your goals. Draft a well-documented business plan and review it regularly. Communicate your plan to your staff and solicit feedback.
2. Organising –- assign tasks and allocate resources throughout the business organisation. Divide the major activities into smaller tasks and designate them to suitable and deserving employees.
3. Leading –- learn the management skill of leadership. Become a true leader by inculcating feelings of confidence, admiration, commitment, and respect within the organisation. Be effective and efficient as a leader to influence others. Foster flexibility and innovativeness.
4. Coordination -- a communication process of tracking activities towards the goal and deciding the next line of actions.
5. Control –- a form of prudent guidance you give to your employees as a business manager or owner.
In a business organisation, it is imperative for everyone (manpower) and everything (machines) to be busy doing commercially practicable and productive work. To measure success in managing the business, you need to evaluate performance. You need to periodically measure quantity and assess quality.
